METHUSELAH
This image was captured in March of 2016 during my Great Desert Wander. I was camping in the remote Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument along the Arizona-Mexico border, an absolutely stunning part of this planet. I was headed out for a hike when I came across this amazing specimen that struck me for it’s form and wildness, but also it’s experience and wisdom. I wonder, how many desert years has this aged cactus witnessed. It certainly is a testament to the beauty of our wildlands and why they're worth protecting.
